PJO at the Majestic Theatre, Conway NH on Dec. 30th

The Portland Jazz Orchestra will be headed to Conway’s Majestic Theatre on Dec. 30th with it’s annual Holiday Show. PJO will be playing holiday classics along with Duke Ellington’s Nutcracker Suite reinterpreted from Tchaikovsky’s ballet. The Jazz Nutcracker, a classic Duke Ellington/Billy Strayhorn composition, as you imagine, is a swingin’ version of the classical music.  Duke took various movements from the orchestral realm and gave it his unique treatment in the jazz style.   PJO will also be performing more contemporary holiday big band classics while featuring powerhouse vocalist, Katie Oberholtzer! This annual beloved holiday show at the Majestic promises to be a fun-filled, swinging affair!
